Objectives:
- Assist participating institutions in the development and
practice of effective collaborative/shared leadership as a
means to sustainable institutional change;
- Build an actual and perceived culture and posture of trust
and stewardship within and among SOFSEC institutions and with
various internal and external stakeholders;
- Use knowledge, management, and information technology to
build the human capital of SOFSEC institutions and their stakeholders;
- Assist SOFSEC institutions and their stakeholders in developing
and/or enhancing their appreciation of leadership and its
relationship between management principles and the concept
of due diligence;
- Promote cooperative student learning that encourages voluntary
community service, student leadership development, and the
use of technology and community resources to enhance learning
and community involvement.
Some of this project's activities are:
- Convene a series of workshops, seminars, and experimental
activities designed to enhance the leadership skills of stakeholders;
- Develop issue based learning communities involving internal
and external stakeholders;
- Establish a broad-based advisory council consisting of representatives
from internal and external stakeholders which will recommend
policies and procedures designed to facilitate leadership,
development and practice procedures;
- Convene frequent formal and informal dialogues between members
of various leadership teams within and among SOFSEC institutions;
- Provide training to stakeholders to facilitate leadership
process and practice
