Connecting Phase 1 to Phase 2: Bridging the Gap
Using bridges as a metaphor and with images and quotations about bridges, the participants thought about the gap between Phase 1 and Phase 2. Also, under
bridges resides the "troll," or the undiscussable obstacles that prevent the smooth passage on the bridge.
Workshop #6 was to be that bridge between Phase 1 and Phase 2. Some previous thoughts were that Workshop #6 could be used in helping the participants with their Phase 2 proposals. However, with the accelerated timeline (Phase 2 proposals due by April 15) Workshop #6 could not be scheduled to help facilitate with the proposal development.
After much discussion, it was decided that since WorkSpan still is under contract with the Kellogg Foundation for providing assistance, this assistance would be made available to each project individually. The projects could decide to pool their resources and develop a regional workshop, using WorkSpan's assistance, or they could individually use WorkSpan for their individual projects.
WorkSpan and the Kellogg Foundation will work out the details and let each project know how much time WorkSpan will have for each individual project.
