12 Noon Workshop Registration Open

Lunch and meeting for Leadership Project Directors – Nick Bizony

Materials:

Registrants receive name tags, and folder with (all handouts will be punched for 3-ring binder): note paper, workshop focus and objectives, agenda, Kellogg brochure, participant list, one-page model from Steve, evaluation - pre and post, post-it notes (lined, 3 x 5 or larger), one-page "What is my role? What do I want to get?", one-page "What stories are being told in your organization? What stores should be told?"

2:00 - 2:05 - General Session Begins

Facilitator: Elizabeth McGrath / Rick Foster

Content:

Getting started! Start-on time. Brief welcome, go over expectations for conference. Introduce Rick Foster.

Materials: Could have expectations on an over-head or in their packets.

2:05 - 2:30 - The Big Picture

Facilitator: Rick Foster

Content: The Events Leading Up to This One

Materials: Perhaps speech notes.

Notes: Rick always takes longer than we think, so be prepared to help him close on time.

 

2:30 - 3:00 – Introductions: Human Q Sort, Learning Buddy Selection, Pre-evaluations

Facilitator: Ross MacDonald (co-facilitator: Len Smith)

Content: An activity to introduce participants to each other and demonstrate the diversity and similarities in the room. End with selection of learning buddy and completion of pre-evaluation. Deposit pre-evaluations at back of room.

Materials: Room needs to have well-marked areas, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H (8 areas)

3:00 - 3:45 - Participant Expectations for Workshop #2

Creation of Max/Mix Groups

Facilitator: Len Smith (co-facilitator Nick Bizony)

Content: Creation of Max/Mix groups. Purpose is to get participants talking with each other and feeling comfortable about "being in this place." 1-2 minutes self introduction, followed by filling out form in packet and then sharing answers.

Materials: (Garee and in packets) "What do you see as your role in this project?" "What do you hope to 'get' from this workshop?"

3:45 - 4:00 - Overview of Workshop Segments (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3)

Facilitator: Nick Bizony (co-facilitator Elizabeth McGrath)

Content: Share the intentions of how we are spending our time (Day 1 - getting here, getting connected, overview; Day 2 - learning from each other; Day 3 - back home planning)

4:00 - 4:30 - Review of Matrix design, model, glossary, learning tools

Facilitator: Elizabeth McGrath and Steve Bosserman

Content:

1) The usefulness and intentions of the design matrix in the leadership workshop series

2) Quick review of notebook, learning buddies, graffiti wall, suggested reading list

3) Web site introduction and demonstration

4:30 - 5:15 - Home Teams meet (with break included)

Share Expectations for Workshop #2

Facilitator: Len Smith (co-facilitator Nick Bizony)

Content:

Home Team members introduce themselves to each other, summarize what's happening back home, discuss how they want to deploy themselves at this workshop for maximum benefit. Go over sheets from above. Compile on flip chart paper. Post.

5:15 - 5:30 - Taking the Pulse - Participants inform the next day's design

What needs further discussion?

What should we do tomorrow to enhance learning?

Notes:

Emphasize that input refines Day 2 agenda. Put up index cards on graffiti wall

 

5:30 - Adjourn for the Afternoon
