| The purpose of LINC Workshop
#4 is to help each project articulate its move from the abstract to the concrete. We have
spent the first three workshops discussing aspects of transformational leadership. It's
time to move forward to develop leadership change strategies appropriate to our respective
institutional environments. We still have much to learn from each other, and can derive
much benefit from becoming ever more explicit now about the specific local opportunities
and challenges which we each face. The agenda for Workshop #4 "moving from the
abstract to the concrete" will enable us to create concrete plans of action to
establish transformational leadership at our home institutions. Our resulting plan of
action will be the heart of our proposals to Kellogg for implementation funding.
Moving from the Abstract to
the Concrete
Beginning the Transition to Developing Our
LINC Phase II Proposal
Objectives:
- To create a safe workshop environment that, at every
opportunity, models individual/collective responsibility, optimal learning,
experimentation, and community building.
- To take the abstract learnings about collective leadership
and to create opportunities to incorporate these learnings into concrete activities
- To share our applications of emergent leadership and
learning
- To reflect on others thinking regarding leadership and
change
- To model and develop the use of art and different learning
modalities as key components in the learning process
- To develop strategies and plans for sharing workshop
learning at home.
- To add "Proposal Creating" to the leadership
exploration/experimentation intention of LINC Phase I
Expectations:
- All arrive at the beginning and stay until the end of the
Workshop
- Sessions will start on time and end on time - utilizing
self-organizing systems theory to promote maximum engagement
- Participants arrive well prepared
- Participants will be engaged in meaningful, respectful,
engaging conversations/experiences, using
- active listening
- individual/paired/group reflection
- community-wide sharing
