College Station Students at Texas A&M are taking an
active role in shaping their curriculum. At College Station, students are
engaging faculty to look at the ways in which courses can be taught to better
serve the student. This dialogue has occurred across campus, increasing
communication among faculty, staff and students. It has also gone beyond the
university walls, with business groups becoming more engaged in developing
internships and curriculums that will better help students to enter fields of
agricultural science and business.

Texas Tech A common concern of many institutes of higher
learning is finding a way to reach out to underserved populations. Through the
FSPE grant, Texas Tech was able to build partnerships with Texas A&M to
develop video and distance learning programs to reach students outside of the
college walls. Now, through distance learning, students at the Texas Tech
campus can receive a degree from Texas A&M without ever leaving the Texas
Tech campus. (view

. It recognizes its strategic global position and collaborates with state,
national and international diverse partners to offer timely teaching,
research and continuing education programs.
Such programs are easily accessible to all potential users and the system
uses novel educational approaches, including the use of latest communications
technology. It communicates information about agriculture and natural
resources effectively with the general public and it enhances leadership
and human skills of students, faculty, industry professionals and community
leaders.
