Minority Family Farmers and their Community
The Southern Food Systems Education Consortium (SOFSEC) has made assisting minority family farmers one of its key priorities. This effort has involved such things as helping farmers learn how to better market their goods, including setting up farmers markets and teaching farmers how to grow crops organically. The video also describes the partnerships between the US Department of Agriculture and partnering SOFSEC universities to develop continuing education workshops for farmers.
