Vision 2020 Pizza-a-thon

Career Trek to ISU
Through Vision 2020's Career Trek, Iowa's high school students are learning about potential careers and the education they will need to get those careers. Students begin by selecting an area of interest, such as agriculture or engineering. Students with similar interests then visit the Iowa State University campus for a day. What they learn about the college campus and college classroom helps them make informed decisions and better prepare for the years ahead.

Engaging Community Colleges
By engaging Iowa's community colleges as educational partners, Iowa State University (ISU) is redefining the college campus. With the support of Vision 2020, traditional geographical boundaries have fallen to the wayside, allowing students at Kirkwood Community College to enroll in an ISU degree program 100 miles away. Through a professional development program sponsored by Vision 2020, instructors are implementing interactive learning strategies that engage students in new ways. And for the first time ever, ISU is cooperating with Iowa's 15 community colleges to present basic freshman courses acceptable to all.

Vision 2020:

In the year 2020, Iowa towers in the global economy - an oak tree on the prairie.  Iowa's food systems professions education nourishes the oak tree by preparing people for life in sustainable communities and in an ever-changing world.
